Heart Disease Discussion
A condition currently on the public mind is Heart Disease. It is currently the #1 killer of both men and women.
Heart Disease was rare in 1912 despite the fact that many people lived to advanced ages1. By 1970, Heart disease caused nearly half of all deaths in America – an increase of about 1,000 percent between 1930 and 19701.
Constant media exposure has caused a significant portion of the population to be concerned about their risk of heart attack, as well as the risks associated with hypertension, obesity, stress, chronic fatigue, and other conditions.
The best known and safest strategy to prevent these conditions include diet and weight-bearing exercise! Why? The mechanism is quite simple and well documented. Exercise makes the muscles demand oxygen. The heart must deliver that oxygen to the muscles in the blood, so the heart must work harder to accomplish that task. That work makes the heart stronger. Strong hearts are at less risk for heart attack. Exercise also strengthens our whole cardiovascular system.
In addition, the muscles want fuel. They will burn glucose until the muscle stores are gone, then fat. Before fat is mobilized from fat tissue, there is often a ready supply in the blood - LDL cholesterol - the "bad" cholesterol. The muscles will take in the LDLs for fuel and reduce your blood cholesterol levels. Continuous exercise, such as that performed by active people wearing their Wellness Belt for long periods of time every day, will then have their fat stores mobilized and sent to the muscles for fuel and energy in order to perform the extra work of carrying the extra weight. The result? Weight Loss and / or loss of inches.
Ironically, thin people will not lose weight. Instead, they should increase muscle mass around the midsection of their bodies - abs, buttocks and legs.
These very positive body changes can be yours without changing your daily routines - but the more active you are, the more beneficial the product will be for you. It simply multiplies the exercise of your everyday movements.
So, the Wellness Belt simply multiplies the wearer's normal activities to perform increased weight-bearing exercise. This is one of the reasons that Health Canada has issued us a Class 1 Medical Device License. That document allows us to claim reduction of risk and prevention of coronary heart disease. Exercise makes our hearts stronger. Stronger hearts are simply less likely to suffer heart attacks.
