Why do you push losing INCHES instead of losing WEIGHT?

The short answer is because losing inches is healthier and more rational than focusing on pounds. Here’s why …

When you use our product it makes you increase your leg and trunk muscle usage and burn off fat for fuel for those muscles. So you lose fat and gain muscle. You gain the weight of the new muscle and lose the weight of the fat burned off. Gaining a little muscle however, being a high density tissue, can make a significant difference in number of pounds gained. Fat, being a low density tissue needs significant loss of volume to make significant losses in number of pounds.

So if you are gaining muscle weight and losing fat weight, what then does your net change in weight tell you? Perhaps you can tell me, because I do not know. It is a meaningless number in my opinion.

Now, the dietary weight loss industry has their clients controlling their dietary intake and focusing on loss of pounds. That strategy is not all noble, and can be quite self-destructive. They are producing loss of body fat, which is good, (but doesn't make a lot of difference in your weight )… but in addition their customers are unknowingly losing muscle too. This is not good in any possible way - but it makes the bathroom scale go down.

So people lose weight and are happy, not understanding that they are losing a significant component of the pounds lost due to muscle loss. But muscle loss is a very, very bad thing. Loss of muscle (lean body mass) makes you LESS PHYSICALLY FIT! Sooner or later there will be consequences to the loss of that leg and trunk muscle. I would suggest that part of the reason you see so many middle aged people using canes, walkers & scooters these days is that they have unknowingly dieted away some of their leg and trunk muscles by following the advice of some of the dietary weight loss companies. People think they are doing a noble thing by losing pounds – unfortunately it is not all beneficial and for those reasons the focus on “pounds only” may not be in everyone’s best interests.

In contrast to that dietary approach, a Wellness Belt makes you burn off fat and gain muscle – making you more physically fit … not less physically fit – a bonus – you become Slim and Trim at the same time. Which would you prefer?

Therefore we train people to forget weight loss as a meaningless goal, and focus instead on inches loss. So if you think about it - do you want to lose fat and gain in muscle - becoming more physically fit while losing fat, - or - do you want to lose fat AND muscle, becoming less physically fit but losing lots of pounds?

I suggest that the concept of weight loss should be thrown on the ash heap of history and there should be an "Inches Loss" industry springing up to replace it.
